LEED® Professional Accreditation
Once you've decided to go green with your construction project how can you know that the Minneapolis contractor you are working with knows enough about green building methods and principles to deliver a certifiable project?
LEED Professional Accreditation helps you identify a Minneapolis green building professional who has demonstrated the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the LEED Accredited Professional Exam. Passing the exam means that an individual understands the LEED rating system, and has the foundational knowledge to ensure your project passes smoothly and successfully through the LEED Green Building Rating process.
Based on the same factors as LEED Certification, the LEED Professional Accreditation exam ensures that those who are successfully accredited understand the areas of sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovative factors in design or operations, maintenance and upgrades. Accreditation must be earned in the various types of projects, just as certification credits are earned differently. New Construction and Major Renovation Professional Accreditation is separate from Existing Building Professional Accreditation, etc.
Are You Working with a LEED Accredited Professional?
LEED Professional Accreditation has been available since 2001. According to the US Green Building Council's website more than 40,000 individuals have become Accredited Professionals since that time. These professionals are willing to share their credentials with you, and can be found in the USGBC Directory of LEED Accredited Professionals.
